Lou Dirisio
Co-Founder
Lou is the co-founder of DiRisio Builders and, alongside his younger brother Bill, the second generation of his family in the homebuilding business, a trade their father and uncle began in the early 1950s. Lou began his career in banking, but the pull of the trade he’d grown up around proved stronger. He started building spec homes of his own, and it wasn’t long before he realized where he was meant to be. His time in finance would prove formative nonetheless, giving him a discipline and client-facing polish that shaped the company’s character.
For nearly four decades, Lou served as the face of DiRisio Builders. He led client selection meetings, guided countless families through the thousands of decisions a custom home demands, and ran the entire business side of the operation, from accounts payable and receivable to the day-to-day rhythms that keep a construction firm running smoothly. While Bill was on the job site, Lou was the steady hand making sure everything around it ran efficiently.
Over the years, Lou developed a remarkable architectural intuition. What began as a working knowledge of plans evolved into a genuine design sensibility, to the point that he could refine, adjust, and improve drawings on the fly, often catching opportunities that others missed. It is a skill earned only through decades of immersion, and one that has saved clients time, money, and second-guessing on more projects than can be counted.
Lou continues to lend his decades of experience to the company as Operations Manager, working alongside his brother and nephew to uphold the standards and craftsmanship he spent a lifetime building.
Bill Dirisio
President and Co-Founder
Bill is the President of DiRisio Builders and the second generation of his family to build homes on Rochester’s east side, a legacy his father and uncle began in the early 1950s. Like his son after him, Bill was on job sites as a child working alongside his father, absorbing the trade long before it became his career. In 1986, he and his older brother Lou formally incorporated the company, building it together over nearly four decades into one of the east side’s most respected custom homebuilders, a foundation that continues to define the firm today.
More than four decades in, Bill remains as hands-on as the day he started. He personally manages every project he takes on, a rarity for a builder of his tenure, and a deliberate choice. He sees no substitute for being on site, and no reason after forty years to delegate what he does best.
Bill’s value to his clients is hard to overstate. He has cultivated longstanding trade relationships with craftsmen who know his standards and answer his calls first. Over the course of his career, he has completed more than 300 projects, including three custom home subdivisions in Fairport along with numerous spec homes and spot builds throughout the east side of Rochester. There is virtually no construction challenge he hasn’t seen, solved, or anticipated before it became a problem. That depth of experience is something no résumé can manufacture; it can only be earned.
For Bill, custom homebuilding is fundamentally a relationship business. The trust a client places in him is something he takes personally, and earning it is the part of the work he values most. He has built his career on doing right by people, quietly, consistently, and over a long time.
